CLOSING THE YEAR 2011

Dear friends: It ´s been another succesful year that passed by. I want to give you many thanks for your support and confidence in this art project that has brought for 4 years already lots of fun and experiences for the Umasbamba school´s kids. Words are not enough to express our gratitude. We pray for you to be blessed always.


The parents and the 4 teachers say thanks and til next year.  We prepared a great meal for all the children to say good bye.

We gave them discs with videos of this year performances and their pictures
Thanks to Farah and Amir´s donation the teachers bought these shelves for 3 of the classrooms 

 These are the kids who finished school this year. They will go to High School in other near villages. There is no High School in Umasbamba. They will be walking for some hours to get to school. We gave them simple watches like a farewell gift. The principal of the school and the classroom teacher also in the picture

 And we dance with them and their parents!!!

LIMA ACTIVITIES SEPTEMBER 2011

 A guided visit to Pachacamac, an important archeological site by the sea South of Lima

 The most powerful experience of the trip! For all of them their first encounter with Mama Qocha, the Sea

 Our great host José Infante! He told his two children at home: I will be father of another 31 kids this week. And sure he was!!! He took care everyday  of all the details for us to have a perfect time. Thank you José. We love you!
 Thank you also to the AIACuatrotablas for inviting us and for prepare such a great program of activities for the children!!!And the sponsors in Lima who made this possible!

 We visited the San Francisco Church to see some of the colonial art

 Walking downtown Lima from the Main Plaza to the MunicipalTheater nearby

 The Municipality of Lima offered a tour to the children the 5th day, guided and on a very fancy bus

 They took us to Parque de las Leyendas to see the animals and other interesting things

 The children received some gifts there

 Another day we visited the museum Larco Herrera

 At the end they gave the children paper and colors to paint! Great fun!

 The children enjoyed some theater and puppets shows that were part of the program of the same International Theater Festival they were invited too.

 They visited  the well known Parque de las Aguas, an amazing show of water an light

 They loved it!

 On the last day they invited us to visit the factory of KR who were sponsoring most of the meals and transportation during our stay. Thank you for that!!!

Back home in Umasbamba!!! We had a wonderful time. Thanks again for all the many people who made this possible.

INTIQCHURINKUNA PERFORMING IN LIMA

The very well known theater group Cuatrotablas from Lima invited the children to perform in the XII International Theater Festival on occasion of  their fortieth anniversary. They said they want to give themselves a gift and the children´s show would be that. So they arrange 2 shows at the open patio of the Teatro Municipal de Lima and also they prepared an interesting and fun program for the children to do during their stay of 7 days in the capital city of Perú.
They provided us the accomodation,most of the meals and excursions and transportation in Lima.
The Intiqchurinkuna Project covered the transportation from Cusco and some other needs to make this trip possible.We give thanks to Synergy Non Profit, the children´s godparents Farah and Amir, Paul, Linda and Ricardo, Anne marie and Betsy for your wonderful support.
